John Moyers says he is a lucky man. As a young boy, he was surrounded by art and art supplies, thanks to his father, award-winning artist William Moyers. As a teenager, he was mentored by distinguished painter, Robert Lougheed. And, as an adult he met and married his soul mate and fellow artist, Terri Kelly, and the two have happily traveled the world, painting as they go. He is modest about his accomplishments, grateful for the opportunity to spend his life doing what he loves, and excited about the future.

“One of my favorite subjects are figures and horses in the fall aspens; there are so many possibilities with composition. Every time I paint an aspen scene, they prove very difficult, but that’s OK. I still enjoy painting them.”

“I try to paint at least one bucking horse picture a year. They are fun to paint but always very difficult to pull off. I do not want them to look like I went to a rodeo, shot a bunch of photos, and stuck this saddle bronc out in some Western landscape.”
