Kyle Polzin has been painting professionally for about 15 years now, delighting collectors with his wonderfully executed still life pieces that feature a magical mix of everything from flowers, flags, and feathers to boots, blankets, and bowls. Each painting is beautifully lit and masterfully detailed.

We have featured Polzin and his work three times over the years, much to the delight of readers, who appreciate and applaud his skill in composing and painting pieces that stop you in your tracks, compelling you to study every detail and appreciate the magic of his brush. Not surprisingly, Polzin’s paintings sell as quickly as he can complete them, and his one-man shows are sellouts. In fact, during one such show last fall, all nine of his paintings sold on opening night.

Born and raised in Texas, Polzin hasn’t strayed far from his roots, now living in Austin, Texas.

The Renegade

“Perhaps the best known renegades are the Apache people, who left the reservation system between 1879 and 1886 in hopes of reviving and continuing to live the traditional ways in northern Mexico and the southern United States. During that period, the renegades were successful at raiding and evading capture by the military. They were superior horsemen, skilled at guerrilla warfare, practical in the use of items procured during those events, and utilitarian in their belief that their cause was for the greater good.”
