Happily working from his home studio, situated between two wineries in Penticton, British Columbia, Terry Isaac couldn’t be more pleased with his life—personally and professionally. He realized success early in his career and, now married and the father of four, his days are filled with the wonderful chaos that comes with an active family and the joy that comes with sharing his love of nature through his paintings.

This piece was inspired by the geothermal activity in Yellowstone National Park. I am a bit of a closet geologist and am always in awe of the uniqueness of this spot and the magnitude of natural power visible on the landscape.

This is the first tryptich I have ever painted. In this piece I wanted to create a quiet, peaceful mood. I kept the design clean and simple and attempted to create the feeling of movement with the mist drifting between the panels. I came across this scene early one morning on one of my reference-gathering trips.
